PURVIS Emergency Notification System To Improve ER Card Services

ER Card, LLC, and PURVIS Systems Incorporated, an engineering and information technology company, have joined forces to provide critical medical information and to improve emergency notification communications between senders and recipients at universities and colleges, secondary schools, health agencies, hospitals, municipalities and corporations.

PURVIS' Emergency Notification System (ENS) enables key officials, first responders and emergency personnel to receive mass notification of an emergency within minutes. With the incorporation of ER Card's exclusive electronic patient health records, PURVIS ENS also is able to provide first responders with accurate, updated medical records and important emergency contact information. It is expected that patients in emergency situations will receive more efficient and streamlined medical care, since accurate medical information will be at the fingertips of emergency personnel.

"The incorporation of public safety and public health into one system dramatically improves availability of critical information necessary during emergency situations to all public and private institutions," said Antoine Gharios, Director of Corporate Business Development for PURVIS Systems, Inc. "This integrated system provides notification to emergency personnel and parents within minutes."

September is:
Ovarian Cancer
Awareness Month

It is estimated that this year more than 16,000 women will die in the United States from ovarian cancer. If detected at its earliest stage, the five year survival rate is more than 90%. Recent research suggests that together the 3 symptoms of swollen abdomen, a bloated feeling and urinary urgency may be associated with ovarian cancer.

Prostate Cancer
Awareness Month

One in six men will be afflicted with prostate cancer, but if caught early, nearly 100% survive. Early prostate cancer has no symptoms, which is why screening is so important.

National Cholesterol Education Month
All adults should have their cholesterol measured, know their cholesterol numbers and their risk for heart disease, and follow a heart-healthy lifestyle to lower their risk and keep it down.

Calming Allergy Flare-ups

Allergies are a hypersensitivity to a foreign substance that is usually harmless, but causes a violent reaction in the individual. The most common types of allergies are nasal allergies and chronic allergies. Common allergens include pollen, dust mites, mold spores, bacteria, insects and animal dander. Symptoms of allergies include a runny nose, coughing, itchy eyes and nose, stuffy nose, sneezing and difficulty breathing.

Allergies cannot be cured, however, the following techniques can help relieve some of the inconvenient and uncomfortable characteristics of an allergy flare-up:
• Avoid the allergen, if possible
• Use air filters in your home
• Ask your doctor or pharmacist which of the following is right for you: Antihistamines, Leukotrene Blockers, Nasal Steroids or Vitamin C
• With severe reactions your doctor may discuss allergy shots
